Kazan 2013 volunteers successfully complete their internship at World Combat Games. Part 2
1 November 2013, Friday
Volunteer training began long before the competitions - the receipt of applications from those who want to take part in an internship kicked off at the end of September. For four days, candidates had been interviewed at the Main International Centre (MIC). "Such internships are usually quite popular among volunteers. The Games in St. Petersburg were no exception - the competition was 2-3 applicants per place depending on the volunteer position. To get a spot on the team, the applicants had to undergo a rigorous selection based on a number of criteria: a good command of English and other foreign languages, knowledge of martial arts, volunteer experience and recommendations from Kazan 2013 volunteer managers, and, of course, self-motivation," says head of the Kazan delegation Regina Valiullina, who works as Chief Expert in the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.
