"Russia has fully lived up to your expectations," said the President of Tatarstan, addressing the members of the FISU Executive Committee. "And if the bid to host the Winter Universiade 2019 will be entrusted to Krasnoyarsk, it will not let you down."

The presentation of the candidate cities for the 2019 Winter and Summer Universiades took place in Brussels on 14 September 2013. Delegates of the city bidding for the Winter Universiade, Krasnoyarsk, and the cities bidding for the Summer Universiade, Baku (Azerbaijan), Brasilia (Brazil) and Budapest (Hungary), arrived in the FISU headquarters to submit their Bid Books.
The second candidate to host the Winter Universiade 2019 - Le Valais, Switzerland - withdrew from the bid race, but expressed its intention to submit a bid to host the Games in 2021.
The 2019 Winter Universiade host city decision was made on November 9, 2013 at the FISU Executive Committee meeting in Brussels. The Games will take place in Krasnoyarsk.
