Turkey parliament foreign affairs commission chairman, Volkan Bozkyr, was surprised and disagreed with the figures. He said that political, economic and cultural relations between Turkey and Russia progressed rapidly, including owing to Tatarstan. Annual trade between Turkey and Tatarstan totalled over $34 billion, while the two countries’ executives had set the task to increase it to $100 billion, he reported. Up to 4 million Russians annually visited Turkey as tourists, which testified to relations between the two being strong as never before.
