"I really wanted to break the national record, but I finished just a little shy of it. At the championship, I was more concerned about results than about medals. I am pleased that we achieved everything we had planned together with my coach. My goal for the European Championships is to fight for medals and to show my worth while competing with world-class swimmers," said Veronika Popova.
