"I am very pleased that we've qualified for the European Championships. It was my major goal for the first half of the season," said Nikita Ulyanov. "This year I came of age, and a senior championship is a completely different thing. It is much tougher and the competition is stronger. Last year, I barely made it to finals. And only by the end of the year I picked up the speed and won bronze at the event in Moscow. So, this gold medal is my first senior trophy."
