Kazan makes it to top 10 of Sportcal's annual Cities Index. Part 3

Kazan emerged in Sportcal's top 10 for the first time. It is evidence of a successful hosting of an entire array of high-profile sporting events, primarily the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 which was highly commended by the global sports community, and the addition to its roster of major events of the European Badminton Championship (2014), FEI Fencing World Championships (2014), FINA World Championships (2015), FIFA Confederations Cup (2017), and FIFA World Cup matches (2018).

Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has hosted a "Fitness Diploma" for the first time, run under the supervision of Fitness Pioneers Academy and Dar Al - Hekma University representing the Saudi Side while Kazan Cooperative University from the Republic of Tatarstan has represented the Russian Side.
Anastasia Fesikova, representing Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Kaluga Oblast, took gold in the 50m backstroke race at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan (26.94).
