The Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate delegation is currently at the Olympic Games in Sochi, taking part in the Tatarstan exhibition on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Volga Federal District exhibition occupies 560 square metres of floor space and is part of the exposition of Russian regions arranged in order to provide visitors with a fun and festive atmosphere and to show the diversity of all countries and nations - all in one place, in the Olympic Park.
Tatarstan is the principal subject of the Volga Federal District, responsible for organising the exhibition on behalf of VFD. Its main ideas are culture and traditions, tourist destinations, sporting achievements of the district's regions. The project was created by the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee and allows the participants and guests of the Games to get acquainted with the cultural and ethnical diversity of Russia and the touristic attractiveness of its regions.
The exhibition of the Volga Federal District represents an integral cultural space which smoothly combines regions and republics of the district. Each visitor can take an amazing interactive tour of all 14 regions of the district. The regions' promotional videos are played on a large display screen set up in the Volga Federal District exhibition area. In addition, attendees receive gifts and souvenirs and experience the true Russian hospitality.
The Cultural Universiade Legacy is offered to the Olympic audience alongside the rich Cultural Olympiad programme. Best ensembles of the Republic of Tatarstan, who became winners of competitions and auditions of the Sochi 2014 cultural programme, perform during the cultural events of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi. The Progulschiki rock band and Maria Malkova sing at Sochi 2014 Live Sites; the Dilirium art lab and Dzhenazi show group give outdoor performances. The State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan will take part in the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony.
