Partnerships established by the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate in the build-up to and during the Universiade will be further developed for the benefit of future sports projects. In particular, the organisation will continue its cooperation with the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and EF Education First.
The Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and FISU will continue active cooperation on implementing projects aimed at promoting and developing university sports worldwide. This agreement was reached at the meeting between Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, Azat Kadyrov, and FISU 1st Vice-president, President of the Russian Student Sports Union, Oleg Matytsin, which took place on the sidelines of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
In accordance with agreements with FISU officials, employees of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate will be involved in the work of FISU Committees, as well as in the implementation of FISU's strategic programmes, including the development of the International Education Centre established in Kazan as part of the Kazan Universiade Legacy, as well as a venue for training sports managers from around the world. In addition, the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate will help organise the next FISU GALA, during which FISU awards trophies to best athletes, coaches, partners and universities that have made significant contributions to the global university sports development. The ceremony will be held on the eve of the 28th Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea. The first FISU Gala took place in September 2012 in Kazan on the initiative of the organisers of the 2013 Summer Universiade.
In Sochi, Azat Kadyrov also met with Edward Baldakov, Country Manager in Russia and CIS at EF Corporate Language Learning Solutions, with whom he discussed the results of joint work during the preparation and staging of the Kazan Universiade. In 2012-2013, EF Education First acted as partner of the 27th World University Summer Games and, under the cooperation agreement with the Universiade organisers, granted English e-learning licenses to Kazan 2013 volunteers, as well as to staff members of the Games Organising Committee.
Edward Baldakov expressed deep satisfaction with the results of joint work in Kazan and announced the company's readiness to cooperate in the future, especially in the coming years when the capital of Tatarstan will host a number of high-profile international sporting events.
