Kazan will share insights on hosting the World Student Games with Krasnoyarsk. The agreement was signed a few days ago during "Russia – a Sports Power" Forum held in Cheboksary. The document was signed by Maxim Urazov, General Director of Executive Directorate of Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, and Azat Kadyrov, General Director of ANO "Executive Directorate for Sports Projects".
The signing ceremony was held at a stand of Krasnoyarsk, which had earned the right to host the 2019 Winter Universiade a year ago.
"Thanks to the President and the Ministry of Sport, Russia and the Russians now have an opportunity to host sports events as major as the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan. We are very pleased that the Winter Student Games will also be held in our country, with Krasnoyarsk picking up the torch. I am sure that this will stimulate the development of student sports in the region and in the country. The experience we have gathered is truly enormous – we have hosted a momentous Universiade, the largest in history and unique in a vast number of ways. With over 12,000 participants and officials, it took about 20,000 volunteers to support the event. A new FISU educational centre was also opened in Kazan. We are glad to have a chance to share our experience with Krasnoyarsk and promise to support them," said Azat Kadyrov. Krasnoyrask delegation, in turn, stated that the agreement was just a matter of time, and expressed confidence in productivity of the future cooperation.
An overview seminar will be held in Kazan in November as the opening of the organisations' cooperation.
