Kazan 2015 Organising Committee and Roskomnadzor sign cooperation agreement

8 November 2014, Saturday
The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Roskomnadzor) will assist the Organising Committee for the 16th FINA World Championships in the build-up to next year's major international aquatics event. A relevant agreement was signed on October 31 in Moscow at the working meeting on use of radio frequency spectrum during FINA 2015.

Present at the meeting were representatives of the Roskomnadzor Department in the Republic of Tatarstan, Radio Frequency Service of the Russian Federation, and experts of the General Radio Frequency Centre. Deputy Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Dmitry Mikhailov, attended the event on behalf of the Kazan 2015 Organising Committee. The meeting saw a number of major decisions being made regarding radio control management, labeling of radio equipment with validation tags and obtainment of permission to use radio frequencies during the FINA World Campionships.

As we previously reported, about a month ago the OC announced the application process open for the use of radio electronic appliances (REAs) and high-frequency devices (HFDs) during the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan. The receipt of applications is carried out in accordance with the Russian legislation and normative documents in the field of communication. Regardless of client group and state affiliation, any organisation that plans to use REAs and HFDs at venues of the upcoming FINA World Championships must acquire a special permission issued by Roskomnadzor. To learn more about the use of REAs and HFDs and to submit an application form for the use of radio equipment, please visit the official Kazan 2015 website where the online application was launched.
