Over thousand of supervisors required for championship in Kazan

A meeting on preparation of supervisors and managers for the 2015 FINA World Aquatics Championships and the 2018 FIFA World Football Cup was held in Russian Sport Ministry on 19 November. The meeting has been chaired by Natalia Parshikova, the state secretary and the deputy minister.

Executive Directorate of Sports Projects CEO Azat Kadyrov, the director of Russian Football Premier League for security Alexander Meitin, the director of Russia-2018 Organizing Committee’s department for relations with regions Denis Polyakov, Russian Football Union's chief on security and fans relations Aleksey Tolkachev and other officials took part in the meeting.

The institute of supervisors and managers was introduced by a federal law; an organizer of the sporting event is responsible for safety at sports facilities in accordance with this law.

According to the law, supervisors and managers have a right to control visitors’ access to official sport competitions, meet and accompany visitors to the their seats, carry out a personal inspection of citizens and their belongings together with safety services, keep people in order and require them to comply with the rules of behavior.

The classification of supervisors, managers, their training, education and quality control of acquired knowledge, advisability of forming a single registry or database of supervisors and managers, formation of two major sporting heritage projects of upcoming years were addressed at the meeting. It should be noted the 2015 championship needs over 1,000 supervisors and managers and the 2018 championship – over 10,000 people.
