French swimming federation representatives visit Kazan

20 March 2015, Friday
Representatives of the French Swimming Federation (FFN) visited Kazan to view the progress made in the lead-up to the 16th FINA World Championships and FINA World Masters Championships. The delegation was composed of Martin Martin, who coordinates logistics, and his assistant Nicolas Scherer. It was their second visit to Kazan, the first being the HoD meeting that took place in September 2014. The FFN delegates met with managers of the Kazan 2015 OC's functional areas and discussed a number of issues including accommodation, transport and logistics.

The French delegates toured the Kazan Arena Stadium where swimming events will be held during this summer's international aquatics event. There they were met by Secretary General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Ranko Tepavcevic. "The French national team is most likely to be one of the most numerous ones at the Championships. It has athletes who aim for the tournament's medals. Our guests needed to make sure that they will be provided with the most comfortable environment - as far as both sports venues and places of accommodation are concerned," he said.

Two more visits to Kazan are scheduled for late spring: USA Swimming's delegates will pay their second visit in May and the FINA TC inspection team will come to check the host city's readiness in April.
