The prominent film director Fedor Bondarchuk will be jury chairman at Sports Cinema and Television international festival, whose final will on 5-9 August take place in Kazan. Tatarstan State Council member Olga Pavlova told about the festival at a meeting held by council’s committee for education, culture, science and nationality affairs on Wednesday.
The festival’s final would for the first time in Russian history take place in Kazan simultaneously with the world aquatics championship, she said.
The decision to hold the final in Kazan was made at Sports Cinema and Television Federation’s meeting in Milan on 4-5 December 2014. All the 32 previous editions had invariably been staged in Milan, the federation’s headquarters. Tatarstan capital’s extensive experience in holding large international events, including Sports Cinema and Television festival’s Russian stage in 2010 that had taken place in Kazan was the decisive factor for the competition commission.
“According to preliminary agreement, Fedor Bondarchuk will head up the jury. Other jury members will be Russian career boxer MP Nikolai Valuev, actress Elizaveta Boyarskaya, as well as heads and members of IOC, IPC and international sports federations, and distinguished athletes,” Olga Pavlova said.
Championship’s stages are held in 16 countries on 5 continents. Over 200 teams will take part in the final round.
