Unique for Kazan and Tatarstan project Race of Heroes, which will be held on May 30-31 at the site of Kazan Higher Military School, will be attended by about two thousand people. It was announced today by Tatarstan Minister of Youth and Sports Vladimir Leonov during a press conference.

The minister believes that uniqueness of the race is in combination of military-patriotic and sport character of the event.

According to director of the race Denis Annikov, participants will go through an obstacle course with a total length of about eight kilometers with dozens of test steps.

"It will be a complete simulation of fighting: blank shots, explosions, smoke bombs. The track in Kazan will be one of the most interesting. It is given 1 hour 20 minutes to pass all the tests. Each team will be attached by two military instructors who will assist throughout the entire route," he explained.

Organizers note that physical training does not matter, and the main requirement for participants is to be older than 18. Participants will pass the tests in teams of up to 20 people. "It is possible to form a team before and while the competition," said Annikov. Thus, the main requirement is to pass all the tests as a whole.

An entertainment program is planned for spectators: performances of the military, exhibition of armament and military equipment, a concert and prizes. All, who wish, will be able to taste food of a real military field kitchen.

In order to ensure safety, ambulances and reanimation will be on duty throughout the test strip, as well as the territory of the event. A shower with hot water will be provided for participants.

The event is supported by acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, together with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Government of Tatarstan and Kazan City Hall. Kazan is one of the cities where Race of Heroes will be held this year. Similar events will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Vladivostok.
