First International Youth Summit of BRICS countries to be held in Kazan

The First International Youth Summit of BRICS countries will be held in Kazan in early July. It was reported today by Minister of Youth and Sport of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov at a press-conference in Tatar-Inform news agency, dedicated to the forthcoming celebration of Youth Days in Kazan.

Youth BRICS summit will take place a week after the large-scale three-day celebration of Youth Days in Kazan. "We want to hold a real celebration of youth, which would be remembered. We plan to hold it every year in Kazan, changing pad formats. Today, we can state that the republic is one of the leaders in youth policy under the results of the past 20 years," Vladimir Leonov said.

According to him, the first Youth Summit of BRICS will be held in Kazan before the main summit of BRICS in Ufa. "This event is held for the first time. When it was decided to hold the big BRICS summit in Ufa, we proposed an initiative to host the event in Kazan in view that Kazan and Tatarstan are youth city and region. It was supported and included in the action plan of the federal government," V. Leonov said.

During three days, Kazan will host the delegates of the best youth teams from five BRICS countries. "There is a quota for Russia - 50 people, including ten members of Tatarstan youth," Leonov said.

It is expected that youth ministers of the BRICS countries will arrive to the capital of Tatarstan. A big plenary session, a meeting with the acting President of Tatarstan will be organized for them. "We expect that this event will become a tradition," V. Leonov said.
