UNICS to play in Eurocup

BC UNICS Kazan will play in the Eurocup in 2015/2016 season.

The draw for the Eurocup regular season will be held on July 9 in Barcelona, the press service of the Kazan club reports.

On June 29, the Euroleague board confirmed its decision: UNICS will play in the European Cup in 2015/16 season. The club won this tournament in 2011, it played in the final in 2014, the team reached the semifinals last season,.

"We are very pleased that we will play in such a representative tournament as the Eurocup," Bogachev said in an interview to SE. "Honestly, we almost did not expect to get the Euroleague, given our unsuccessful play last season, CSKA Moscow, Khimki and Locomotive Krasnodar will participate the tournament. Within the European Cup, we will play against the best teams from Spain, Italy, France, so we are pleased with the decision of the Board of the Euroleague."
