Fencers from Tatarstan win bronze medals at competition in Budapest

The new season of the European Cadet cycle started with the fencers competitions in Budapest. Russian fencers Kyril Borodachev and Danil Gainullin (Tatarstan) took two third positions.

Kyril lost to American Nick Itkin in the semifinals of the competition - 13:15 (as is well known, the European Cadet cycle is attended not only by representatives of the European continent), and Danil lost to another American Geoffrey Taurette - 12:15. Itkin was the strongest in the final match.

It is worth noting that two duets from Russia and two duets from the United States competed in the quarterfinals. Accordingly, two representatives from each country reached the final of the competition, won by overseas competitors.

Women’s competitions were attended by three Russians. Anastasia Karpachova, who took 22th position, showed the best result among them. The podium was occupied by four representatives of the United States, according to the website the Russian Fencing Federation.
