The International Football Federation (FIFA) has insisted nationals of all countries to be charged the same price for tickets for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. It was claimed today by State Secretary, Russian Deputy Minister of Sport Natalia Parshikova at a press conference held by Tatar-Inform, dedicated to 500 days before the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Parshikova clarified that the host country had the right for a bit greater number of tickets than others. "FIFA should get exactly such profits that it has set for itself. The pricing policy will be the same for everybody, not only for Russian nationals," Parshikova stressed.
"FIFA is very persistent in allying a single approach to different countries. The price should be the same everywhere, it cannot be reduced. But FIFA allows countries to hold a lottery instead of selling tickets. In this case, thickets are paid in a completely different way. Sometimes free of charge," the deputy minister said.
Parshikova emphasized that pricing is set by FIFA and is not related to the 2018 World Cup organizing committee. "Tickets are sold very quickly, more quickly than for any other event. If the product is popular, prices for it will not be decreased. Let's see what happens," she noted.
"Anyway, FIFA understands what is happening on the world market, so they are still thinking on optimization of the pricing policy," Parshikova went on speaking.
Aleksei Sorokin, the Russia-2018 organizing committee Head, assured that by the efforts of RFU President Vitaly Mutko, separate category of tickets only for the Russians would be introduced at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with discounts and reasonable prices. "By the way, a similar approach was applied in Brazil. This is so clever of FIFA," he said.
