zat Kadyrov: Kazan readiness for Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup reaches 70-80%

The reconstruction of training grounds, venues for the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, to meet FIFA requirements is starting this year, Director General of Directorate for sports and social projects Azat Kadyrov said today at a Monday business meeting at Kazan City Hall.

"Reconstructiong of training grounds of the Rubin stadium, the Central stadium and the Elektron is starting this year, the deadline is planned for 2017, because they have to be ready for the Confederations Cup. The reconstruction of teams bases (Ak Bars, Volga) will be launched next year and completed in 2018, as these sited will be used at the FIFA World Cup," Kadyrov said journalists.

"All the projects suppose the further use of facilities for the development of mass football movement. Moreover, improvement of adjacent territories, construction of access roads and additional parking space is being carried out," he said.

In general, according to the general director of the Directorate for sports and social projects, "Kazan is ready for the Confederations Cup and the FIFAWorld Cup for about 70-80 percent."
