Kazan is ready to host final of Water Polo Euro Cup - Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Sports

The capital of Tatarstan is completely ready to host the final match of the Water Polo Euro Cup with participation of VC Sintez Kazan. It was claimed by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Khalil Shaikhutdinov at a press conference at Tatar-Inform.

According to the deputy minister, the final series of the Water Polo Euro Cup kicks off on April 16 in Kazan. Sintez has reached the final series of this prestigious club tournament for the third time in its history.

AN Brescia and Sintez Kazan will play for this year's Euro Cup title. In accordance with the tournament rules, the final series consists of two games. The first leg will take place on April 16 in Kazan, the second on April 30 in Brescia. The series winner and winner of the European Cup will be determined by the difference of scored and missed goals after two games.

"Our opponent, Brescia, has good water polo tradition and rich history. It occupies the second position of the county’s championships, yielding to Pro Recco, the current champion. Many titled Italian sportsmen play for the club."

"To date, Kazan and the Orgsintez swimming pool are ready to host the final match of the European Cup, as well as our team is ready to fight," said the deputy minister. He says that Sintez’s participation in the prestigious final will contribute to the promotion of water polo in the republic. "People are getting interested in this kind of sport: favorable conditions for water sports are being created in cities and regions of the republic, in particular, Zelenodolsk and Arsk. Election of a new President of the Water Polo Federation makes new challenges for us," he said.
