The presentation of first gold GTO badges will take place on May 21 in Ryazan. The badges will be awarded to high school students who successfully passed GTO tests at the Winter Festival that was held in February in all regions of Russia. The festival was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the GTO Health and Fitness Programme. The ceremony will be attended by regional leaders and Roman Kalinin, GTO ambassador and rector of Ryazan State Medical University named after academician I.P. Pavlov.
According to the decision of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, this year high school graduates who meet gold GTO badge standards will be awarded extra credits when entering higher education establishments.
All in all, the number of people who passed GTO tests from September 2015 to April 2016 has reached 35,000. All of them will be presented with badges throughout the year. The next GTO badge presentation ceremony will be held in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). 189 badges will be awarded there.
