On May 29, the UNICS cultural and sports complex hosted awarding of the first Tatarstan’s national prize in the field of martial arts, the Golden Belt. The event gathered representatives of 32 federations of the Russian Union of Martial Arts.
The 40th anniversary of kyokushin karate in Tatarstan and the 10th anniversary of Tatarstan branch of the Russian Union of Martial Arts were celebrated as a part of the event.
President of Tatarstan branch of the Russian Union of Martial Arts Farhat Khusnutdinov made a welcoming speech. He noted that the similar award had been given only in Moscow before, now the same event was organized in Kazan. He wished sportsmen success in future career.
The prize were awarded in five categories. In each of them, the competent jury defined one of the three nominees.
Ilyas Khusnutdinov, the representative of Tatarstan Wushu Federation, was recognized the best athlete of the year. In response, the athlete thanked the ceremony organizers, Tatarstan Ministry of Youth and Sports, members of the Wushu Federation and admitted that award receiving was a very important event in his life.
A trophy and a diploma of the best coach of the year went to Vitaliy Skvortsov (Federation dent fudokan karate-do Tatarstan).
Damir Khalilov was called the best manager of the year (Taekwondo Federation GTV). The best promoter of the year award was given to Andrei Svyatov’s project, Fighting by TNA rules.
In honor of the 40th kyokushin’s anniversary, a documentary was shown, covering all stages of the discipline development in the republic.
It should be recalled that, Tatarstan national prize, the Golden Belt, is the highest award in the field of martial arts and is awarded for outstanding achievement to athletes, coaches, sports managers representing Tatarstan both on the Russian and the international arena.
