21 Tatarstan athletes pretend to take part in Olympics in Rio - Leonov

On June 1, Kazan hosted a meeting of Tatarstan Minister of Youth and Sport with athletes, who pretend to take part in the 31st Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The meeting was attended by Minister Vladimir Leonov, his first deputy Halil Shaikhutdinov, Director of the sports training center Vladimir Smolkin, as well as sportsmen and their coaches- Vasily Mosin (coach Sergey Demin), Ekaterina Rabaya (coach Svetlana Demina), and Albina Shakirova (coach Nikolay Teply).

"At the moment, 21 Tatarstan athlete pretend to qualify for the Olympic team in different sports. Three of them are trap shooters. We have developed a special training program, we monitor the performance and results of athletes," Vladimir Leonov said.

He also noted that the current level of trap shooting in Tatarstan was high and athletes could compete for the first places at the Olympics. However, as the minister said, it is necessary to keep up the momentum and to continue intensive traning.

At the end of the event, Vladimir Leonov and his colleagues wished the athletes a successful completion of training and good performances in Rio de Janeiro
