Kazan prepares to play host to Russian athletics junior championships

The Russian Athletics Junior Championships will be staged at the Central Stadium, Kazan on June 26-28, 2016.

1,200 participants representing 76 regions of Russia, among them 850 athletes and 350 team officials, are expected to come to Kazan for the event. 150 technical officials, including 100 judges from the Republic of Tatarstan, will officiate at the tournament.

54 medal events will be contested. For the first time in its history, the national junior championships will feature combined events.

200 volunteers will help stage the athletics tournament across a wide range of functional areas. Field of play volunteers will be selected from among children’s and youth sports schools of Kazan.
