Cycling marathon completes in Kazan

On July 11, the eight annual cycling marathon, Tatarstan for a healthy lifestyle-2016, finished under the walls of the Kazan Kremlin. The capital of Tatarstan has become a finishing point of the two-week bicycle race of more than 1,200 km and visited six cities of the Volga region.

It should be recalled that cycling race takes place in the republic for the eighth consecutive year. Geography of the sporting event encompasses hundreds of settlements of Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk region.

The team of Tatarstan included both renowned athletes Almira Galeeva and Valery Romasenko and young students of children's and youth tourism schools. To successfully overcome the distance, the team managed by experienced athletes was training during the year.

At the finish, the rally participants were welcomed by representatives of Kazan cyclists, while the youngest cyclers were met by relatives and family members.

Pavel Grachev shared his impressions with a correspondent of Tatar-Inform: "Today, under the auspices of the republic we promote cycling, advocating what the youth should be engaged in. A total of 1200 have been overcome, we visited many historical centers and regions."
