Tatarstan swimmer Aleksandr Krasnov, who had finished the fifth in 4x200 m crawl relay event and the eighth in 200 m individual event at the Rio Olympics, admitted in an interview with Tatar-Inform that he felt support of Tatarstan whilst the competitions.
According to the sportsman, support activity was organized in his hometown Bugulma. "I was very pleased to see photos and videos from there" he said.
Aleksandr Krasnykh said Tatarstan Minister of Sport Vladimir Leonov attended the tournament. "We met just after the morning relay. He sent me massages, asking how things went and wished good luck. Many thanks to the minister for supporting," he said.
The Russian swimmers will not stay in Rio till the very closing of the Olympics. On August 14, the Tatarstan swimmer will fly to Moscow and then to Kazan. "I will not compete this season anymore," he stressed.
He also said that he had not yet decided whether to participate in the Moscow stage of the World Cup, however, the athlete intended to take part in short water event at the 2016 World Swimming Championships in Canada this December.\
