90-year-old World champion in athletics intends to run 3.5 km at Almetyevsk half marathon

War and labor veteran, master of sports in athletics and skiing of the USSR and Russia Vasily Matveev will take part in the half marathon in Almetyevsk on August 21

Vasily Matveev, 90 years old, is a multiple champion of Tatarstan and Russia, four-time European champion, three-time world champion. Since 1949, he won 232 gold, 49 silver and 36 bronze medals. The veteran plans to run 3.5 km, giving an example to running lovers.

Each participant of the half-marathon will receive a special backpack, a running shirt, promotional bag and a medal once finished.
