Upon arrival in St. Petersburg, the volunteers received training, visited competition and non-competition venues, collected their uniforms and got down to work, especially since they were offered very important and responsible positions.
Volunteer training began long before the competitions - the receipt of applications from those who want to take part in an internship kicked off at the end of September. For four days, candidates had been interviewed at the Main International Centre (MIC).
On October 29, 35 activists of the Kazan 2013 volunteer movement returned to Kazan from the Northern Capital of Russia, where they had successfully undergone internship at the World Combat Games. Within 12 days, the team of Kazan volunteers had been sharing knowledge with their colleagues - volunteers from all over Russia - and of course had gained new experience at another major international sporting event.
According to Mayor of the Universiade Village Farid Abdulganiev, similar comprehensive examination of students and staff was already held in the Universiade Village in 2011.
