Ak Bars Kazan continued the winning home series, winning 1:0 against Donbass. The match seemed to be heading for overtime and shootouts, when Mikhail Varnakov scored a single goal 4.5 minutes before the end of the game.
Russian Karate Championship will be held at Ak Bars martial arts' palace in Kazan on the 26th-27th of October. The competition will involve over 700 athletes.
Azat Kadyrov greeted participants of the FISU Debriefing on behalf of President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, Vladimir Leonov, and presented a report on the results of the Games.
Eric Saintrond stressed that it's not just a debriefing between organising committees, it's a meeting of people representing different continents, different experience of organising university sports competitions.
Oleg Matytsin congratulated the audience once again on a successful Summer Universiade and emphasised that communication is the key to the next Games' success.
Secretary-General Yoon-suk Kim from the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organising Committee was first to take the floor and to give a welcome speech in which he highly commended the excellently organised World University Games in Kazan and thanked the organisers for their readiness to transfer their knowledge of planning and staging such a large-scale multi-sports event and a fantastic opportunity for Gwangju 2015 and the other cities to learn from Kazan.
