Young people of the North Caucasus Federal District found out about volunteering opportunities created for them to get involved in the excitement of the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. The experience that the capital of Tatarstan has accumulated in the field of sports volunteering and is currently putting to good use was presented at the Mashuk 2014 North Caucasus Youth Forum, which will run from August 4-17.
At present Kazan is often justly called the ‘Sports Capital of Russia’ and Tatarstan is one of Russia’s leading regions in terms of sports volunteering development.

"I made a mistake in the easiest dive at the beginning of the competition and the world's top divers do not forgive mistakes," Silchenko commented on his performance.
DUQUE added the 2014 World Cup gold to his world championship title. SILCHENKO settled for the fourth place. Just like a year ago, HUNT took silver. LOBUE grabbed bronze.
The inaugural FINA High Diving World Cup ended with the Colombian high diver's victory. Two more rounds of the men's competition were contested on the closing day and points awarded for these dives were accumulated with those given in the preliminary rounds. Ilia SHCHUROV (RUS) did well in his attempt but he failed to make it to the top 12 divers who eventually competed for medals. Artem SILCHENKO (RUS) who was 8th after the first three rounds made a breakthrough in his fourth dive. The leading trio included Orlando DUQUE (COL), Gary HUNT (GBR) and Steve LOBUE (USA).
“The High Diving World Cup is very well-organised, and I am sure that next year’s World Championships in Kazan will be just as successful. As for my performance, I made a few mistakes, although bronze is a good result,” said Carlton.
“I was able to cope with the wind and pull myself together at the crucial moment, when I was to perform my most challenging dive. I’m very happy with my performance,” Simpson commented on her victory.
