Kazan Volunteers names recorded in book of benefactors of republican fund “Vozrozhdenie”
Commendation letters for the contribution to the preservation of cultural and historical legacy of the Republic of Tatarstan were handed to four representatives of the Kazan Volunteers movement. Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev personally commended the benefactors at the official ceremony in the Kazan Kremlin.
Volunteers of the landmark event of 2018 — 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ — Maria Ryazanova (winner of the Student of the Year of the Russian Federation award in the category "Volunteer of the Year" 2017 ), Timur Tufetulov (winner of the Student of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan award in the category "Volunteer of the Year" 2017), Renata Zinnatullina (laureat of the Student of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan award in the category "Volunteer of the Year" 2017), Almaz Askarov (winner of the Volunteer of the Year 2012 award, Volunteers Department Manager at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi in 2017) were present at the event as benefactors of the Republican Fund for the Restoration of the Monuments of History and Culture of Tatarstan.
For 8 years of its existence, the Book of Benefactors featured 74,000 names. These people come from different cities and villages of Tatarstan, as well as from almost 40 regions of Russia, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The 8th volume includes 6,000 names, and the 9th one symbolically starts with the names of volunteers, as the year 2018 is declared the Year of Volunteers, so first come the names of young people who made a significant individual contribution into the development of the volunteers movement in the Republic of Tatarstan and in Russia.
"This work appealed to everyone, to every benefactor. People are fulfilled with the sense of goodwill. Who would have imagined from the very outset, that for the last year Bolgar would be visited by 541 thousand people, and Sviyazhsk — by 491 thousand. The museums and reserves of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk find more and more new approaches to attract people. Tourists come to Tatarstan. This is exactly what "Success comes with tenacity" means. This is us, our benefactors and participant of the project. We are doing well, we can. Our sites correspond to international standards in restoration of monuments, and we did it to support and transmit the heritage to the next generations," said Mintimer Shaimiev.
The contribution of volunteers to the development of the attractivness of Tatarstan for tourists is a proof of responsibility and attention of the citizens to the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic. A great number of tourists is going to come to Kazan in summer 2018 as Kazan will hos the breathtaking matches the the Mondial, and it is important that the guests are able to discover not only the sport side of the Republic. Volunteers, the first ones to turn to for advice, will become the main information source from who the tourists can learn about Bolgar, Sviyazhsk, and other monuments.
"It is a great honour for each of us to become a benefactor of the Fund. Today to be young also means to be proactive and responsible. Preserve and support everything our country and the Republic are richly endowed with — I will tell about it my friends and family, bearing with honour the title of the Benefactor. An important part of our work as volunteers is to tell about the cultural and historical heritage of Tatarstan to as many people as possible so they will be eager to go see it themselves, and I am sure they will be charmed by the beauty of our treasures and will want to come back," shared her feelings Renata Zinnatullina.
