Tatarstan is a place to implement the volunteers support standard

The Agency for Strategic Initiatives brought together representatives of volunteer movements from different regions of Russia to discuss the experience of the best and most successful regional practices. The meeting took place on 26 February in Moscow. 

Speakers discussed a number of important questions: legal acts on volunteering, management of regional recruiting centers, and implementation of the standard across the country.

The Standard features 10 steps. Their realization provides and ensures inclusive access to volunteering for regions.

Step 1. Adoption of the regulations of cooperation of government authorities with social noncommercial organisations and volunteer organisations;

Step 2. Designation of a responsible group for development of volunteer movement in members of the Russian Federation;

Step 3. Establishment of the Council of Volunteer Affairs;

Step 4. Establishment of Volunteer Recruiting Centers;

Step 5. Subsidies and grant-making for volunteer organisations;

Step 6. Informational support and promotion of volunteer organisations;

Step 7. Development of encouragement system for volunteers;

Step 8. Training of volunteers and management staff;

Step 9. Assesment of the Standard implementation.

As we have informed, the Volunteers Support Standard in the regions of the Russian Federation is a concept dedicated to enhance the volunteering movement in regions based on an analysis of the best volunteer practices in Russia and abroad. More than 200 experts from 8 Federal Districts of Russia participated in the elaboration of the document.
