Russian synchronised swimming championship 2018: day 2, morning session

The Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship is underway in Kazan. Almost 300 synchro swimmers are competing for the titles. On Day 2 the spectators expected three events of the competition programme, two of which ended in the morning session.

The synchro swimmers opened the day with technical solo routines. On the eve the solo swimmers had performed their technical routines, the discipline in which the set and order of elements are strictly defined. The representatives of Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Tatarstan caught the medals.

Alyona Matvienko from Moscow Team Four captured gold in the free routine. Alina Mantulenko representing the Moscow region won a silver medal. This girl also performs as part of the only mixed duet in this national tournament. Karina Shaydullina from Saint Petersburg Team One finished third on the podium.

The technical team routine was the second discipline for the morning session. It stirred no sensation. The medals were won by the synchro swimmers from Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Team One of the northern capital city reached the third step of the victory podium. They should have earned 0.1421 points to become silver medallists. Moscow Team Four were placed second, scoring 88,8297 points. Team Moscow were crowned champions in this event of the competition programme with a two-point margin over their closest opponents.
