On the second day of the FIFA Fan Fest™, Kazan became a magnet for football fans from all around the world. Visitors that arrived in Kazan were able not only to see the Tatarstan capital’s major tourists attractions but also to watch the FIFA World Cup™ matches on huge screens at the FIFA Fan Fest™ venue.
On June 15, three matches, Egypt-Uruguay, Morocco-Iran and Portugal-Spain, were played. “The atmosphere is great; it’s something new for Russia, there have never been anything like this before and quite probably will never be. That’s why it’s very interesting and awesome! Today we are watching the Portugal-Spain match; I think, Portugal will win. Go, Portugal!” a student from Kazan, Nikita, who came to the FIFA Fan Fest™ venue to root for his favourite team together with his friends, shared his thoughts of the venue and made some football predictions.
On June 16, the Kazan Arena Stadium will host its first match of the FIFA World Cup™. The teams of France and Australia will face off on the field. The major part of fans from this countries already arrived in Kazan and was able to experience the festive atmosphere at the FIFA Fan Fest™ venue.
“We are overwhelmed with emotions! We like it very much here. We were in Moscow, now we are in Kazan, then we will go to Samara, Sochi and Saint-Petersburg. We want to see how Australia will play,” Daniel, a football fan from Australia, said. “We support our team and Tim Cahill.”
“Everything is perfect; the atmosphere is great. I think that we will have good memories,” another visitor from Australia, Elvis, shared his impression. “We were in Moscow, then we are going to Samara, Kaliningrad, Moscow again and Sochi.”
Janie, a Canadian football fan, will be rooting for his team tomorrow at the Kazan Arena Stadium: “I’m from France but I live in Canada. I like the Fan Fest; the event management, the atmosphere are great; there are a lot of events going on here!”
Oscar of Mexico, also visited the FIFA Fan Fest™ venue today: “We were at the Kazan Kremlin, walked along the main pedestrian street, then we came to the Fan Fest. It’s awesome here – you can meet people from around the world. The venue is beautiful; there are good people, great volunteers and I’m also happy with the event management. We root for Team Mexico and we hope that our team will show a good game. The World Cup is an amazing event that we’ve been waiting for a whole year!”
The FIFA Fan Fest™ is the only official venue to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ matches outside the stadium. It opens on 14 June, the day on the first World Cup match, and closes on the final day (15 July). There will be 6 rest days when the venue is closed – 29 July, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13 July. Its capacity is of 25,000 people. Admission to the Fan Fest is free, tickets or Fan ID are not necessary. Live broadcasting of matches will be provided at the Fan Fest.
