Rustam Minnikhanov meets French politician, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy

On June 16, at the Kazan International Airport, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials met well-known French politician, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who arrived in Kazan to attend the match between France and Australia.

Upon his arrival, Sarkozy headed for the Kazan Kremlin, where he had a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

From a panoramic site near the Governor's Palace of the Kazan Kremlin, Nicolas Sarkozy looked around the views of Kazan. Minnikhanov told him about the Kazan Arena football stadium and other large-scale sports facilities.

Then, Sarkozy and Minnikhanov answered questions from journalists representing federal television channels.

Sarkozy said that these days the whole world is looking at Russia and Kazan, where the FIFA World Cup is held. According to him, the World Cup is an amazing event, and football is a universal sport that unites people.

Minnikhanov also shared his impressions of the championship. Football really makes us all united, Tatarstan President said. We are very lucky that Kazan is hosting matches of the FIFA World Cup, and today teams of France and Australia will play in Kazan, Minnikhanov said.

We will try to make it so that all the clubs, fans and guests will feel our Russian hospitality. I am sure that this is a good event, and I wish everyone good football, Minnikhanov said.
