The huge chak-chak corresponds to the theme of the main event in the life not only of the capital of Tatarstan, but also of Russia. It represents a football field with a hemisphere of a soccer ball. 20 specialists of the Department of Food and Social Catering were involved in the cooking of a delicacy loved by the residents of the republic and tourists.

Preparations for the chak-chak cooking started three weeks ago. On June 12, they started to mix and form a sweet treat. It took about 1 ton of honey, 1 ton of flour and 9 thousand eggs to bake more than 4 tons of chak-chak.

The diameter of the ball’s hemisphere was 2.6 m, the height was 2 meters, and the whole sweet composition took the area of 3.5 m / 4.8 m. The weight of the sweet football field was 1.8 tons.

The process of making the chak-chak was watched by experts of the Russian Book of Records. The Kazan sweet has every chance to get the official status of the largest chak-chak in the world. The World Cup will start today. The first match between the teams of Russia and Saudi Arabia will be held in the Moscow “Luzhniki”. Kazan citizens can watch it on the big screen installed on the Fan Fest site.
