Kazan Arena stadium saw a real football pageant yesterday at the game of Colombia and Poland. The team from South America scored 3 goals making the stands full of Colombian fans in yellow burst with emotions. The stadium gathered 42,873 spectators. The FIFA Fan Fest™ was full as well as the breathtaking game left no one indifferent.
The numerous fans of both teams started arriving in Kazan several days ahead of the match. Witold of Poland came to Kazan for the first time. He was in Moscow 10 years ago: "A lot has changed for the better since that time. Moscow is very different now." Witold knew virtually nothing about Kazan before. "The city is very beautiful and clean, the roads are good. I've been to the Kazan Kremlin, Baumana Street. The embankment is very loong and beautiful, too." Before the match of his team Witold visited the Fan Fest where despite the hot weather were already a lot of football enthusiasts. "I met fans from Colombia at the Fan Fest. They are cool guys, very fun. But I still hope that Poland will win," he added.
Alejandro from Colombia who has already visited Moscow and Saint Petersburg was also pleased with his trip to Kazan. What Alejandro especially loved about the Kazan Fan Fest is the panoramic view of the Kremlin and the embankment.
Ilnar and Anastasya from Orenburg came to Kazan for one day to see the match of Colombia and Poland. They had some time to see the city centre before the game started. According to them, the hot weather is a little disadvantage but it did not spoil their impressions about the Fan Fest. "We are supporting Colombia," they said.
A special atmosphere has spread across the city. A day before the match Ilsya and Margarita from Kazan strolled down Baumana Street. "There are a lot of tourists from Colombia. This creates a wonderful atmosphere, everyone is singing, dancing, taking photos. Football indeed unites nations! We are so impressed!" they told us. They came to the Fan Fest to see the match on a huge screen.
Nestor from Colombia unlike many of his compatriots was watching the match at the FIFA Fan Fest™ and not at the stadium. "I like it here in Kazan, at the FIFA Fan Fest™, and I like people from Tatarstan," he admitted. Nestor has already been to Saransk.
