1000 athletes will compete at the Russian athletics championships

The event will take place on 19-22 July at the Central Stadium in Kazan.

 

This year the Championships will bring together around 1000 participants from 76 regions of the country. 38 medal sets will be up for grabs during 4 days of the championships. The capital of Tatarstan will host the Russian athletics championships for the third time. Previously Kazan played stage to the tournament in 2008 and 2014.

The strongest athletes of Russia and the world will compete at the event: 4 time high jump world champion Mariya Lasitskene, Olympic high jump champion Ivan Ukhov, World long jump champion Aleksandr Menkov, world triple jump champion Ekaterina Koneva and many other athletics stars, according to the RusAF website.

The Russian Championships is held under the aegis of the Russian Athletics Federation, Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, and Ministry of Sport of Tatarstan. This championships is the 99th already.
