Grand Prix winners of Sozvezdie festival named in Kazan

26 April 2012, Thursday
The 12th open republican television youth entertainment art festival Sozvezdie-2012 on Thursday concluded in Kazan.

A total of 90 thousand participants this year came together, to reveal a winner. The winners were pronounced a 16-year-old singer Ramila Zingatullina of Sarmanovo and choreography group Kama Dawns of Yelabuga. Winners were named in the categories Compering, Solo Vocal, Vocal Bands, Choreography, Video Clip, Best Song Lyrics and Best Song Music.

Over 30 acts, performed by the republic’s most talented children, were presented to the gala concert audience. Most of the applause went to the show’s youngest participant, 3-year-old Maria Molkova of Kazan, for a song about an ant. She was gifted a huge pink elephant, much bigger than herself.

“Our festival has completed the first zodiacal cycle. This means a lot of new stars have appeared in the sky of Tatarstan,” Tatarstan’s vice premier Zilya Valeeva said. She went on to express gratitude to the children's parents and teachers.

“Good upbringing means a reliable, good future for our republic,” she is convinced.

Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov came onstage next. “When you watch this, you realise a new national holiday has appeared in Tatarstan,” he noted. The head of government wished the participants new spectacular wins and handed two Grand Prix prizes.

“I grew up at this festival. Thank you very much to all the Sozvezdie organisers,” Ramila said, not hiding her tears. The Grand Prix winners were, besides many prizes, given certificates naming stars in the Great Bear constellation after them.
