153 high-level translators and interpreters to work at Kazan Universiade

The languages that will be spoken at the Summer Universiade are English as usual, French as the official language of FISU and the languages of the host country - Russian and Tatar. Occasionally, during the escort of the heads of delegation, Spanish translation will be also used. As was previously reported, the material of the official website will be available during the Universiade in three languages – English, Russian and Tatar.

As of today, an enormous amount of work has already been done: about 50 people carry out the translation of all paperwork of the Summer Universiade, of the website news and a lot of other stuff each day.

80% of the translators, who have gone through the most stringent, multi-tier selection process, are from Kazan. Howevere, the specialists who will be helping people understand each other at the Summer Universiade 2013 are not only from the Games host city. Translators not only from Russia but also from France, Spain, Germany and the US will come to the Universiade to contribute to the largest international youth sports event.

Most of the translators are young people under 30 years of age. However, the most experienced specialists who will provide simultaneous interpretation started their professional career at the Summer Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow.

The translator of the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan is Russia's leading translation agency TransLink LLC.

According to the independent analytical centre Common Sense Advisory Inc., the translation agency TransLink has been recognised as the leading agency in Russia, number three in Eastern Europe and number 47 in the world.
