The exhibition project will run until 15 August.
On 5 July, the Modern Art Gallery at the State Fine Arts Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan will present the residents and visitors to the capital with four exhibitions which are different in themes and genres.
The first exhibition is called 'History Painting in the Works of Contemporary Artists Tatarstan'. It represents the works of the painters who, in the late 80s, started to look for their own artistic language that would unfold the historical image of the centuries passed.
They found sources for their creations in the classical, domestic and European art, the medieval art of the Muslim East (miniature and fresco) and in the traditions of the Bulgar-Tatar decorative art. This laid the foundation for the emergence of the art of the national artists who purposefully dedicated their work to the historical genre and to unfolding it through the nation's history.
Another exhibition represents the union of Tatar, Bashkir and Chuvash artists – the Tamga Group. The artists work in the ethnic avant-garde style. Group's leader Khamza Sharipov interprets the reality through a range of symbols which, like the basics of folk wisdom, tell us about the eternal values.
The works by another member of the group, Rustem Shamsutov, depict the nomadic life of the Turkic peoples, their movement, changing places and landscapes, caravans and the stern faces of the warriors. The exhibition will also feature the works by Farida Valiullina, Madiyara Khaziyeva, Rabisa Salyakhova, Riyata Mukhametdinova, Khamida Latypova and Sagida Siraziyeva.
The 3rd exhibition is titled 'Sport in the Works of Photographers of Kazan'. The exhibition presents the art of prolific photographers of the republic: Georgy Kozlov, Sultan Iskhakov, Rif Yakupov and Nikolaiy Aleksandrov.
The 4th exhibition will be called 'Kazan Grafkom - Kazan Graphics'. The public will be presented with the results of the 2-year work of the non-formal creative association 'Kazan Grafkom' since their creation (2011-2013). Head of the association Alexander Artamonov and members of Kazan Grafkom will present their 3 mutual projects: - Kazan Glossary, Kazan Catalogue and Sviyazhsk Book - and over 55 individual graphic works. The exhibition will also have on display the works by the students of the graphics department at the V.I.Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in Kazan.
