4 July 2013, Thursday
On 3 July, the colours of the delegations from Anguilla, Denmark, Guatemala, El Salvador, South Africa, Trinidad, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Cameroon, Senegal and Madagascar were hoisted in the Flag Alley of the Universiade Village

With only three days remaining before the formal opening of the Summer Universiade, an increasing number of visitors from the countries of the near and far abroad have been arriving at the Universiade Village, the place which is going to become their home for the next three weeks.

The welcome ceremonies are taking place one after another in the Flag Alley of the Universiade Village. The flag of El Salvador was the first one to get hoisted above the Universiade Village today. The ceremony was attended by Mayor of the Universiade Village Farid Abdulganiev. According to him, there have already been four meetings with the heads of delegation regarding accommodation at the campus. "The feedback from everyone is only positive. The guests are happy with everything, which is very pleasing for us, organisers. It is very important for us that athletes feel at home here as the creation of comfortable conditions in the Universiade Village is today a priority," emphasised the Mayor.

"We prepared for the Universiade together with our colleagues from Shenzhen, and we implemented the best projects in the preparation of the Universiade Village, supported by their experience. As a result, the Chinese delegation's feedback has also been very good both regarding the service quality and the Village as a whole," said Farid Abdulganiev.

Athletes shared their impressions of accommodation in the Universiade Village, too. "It is very nice here. It is my first Universiade, and I feel great. Coming here and taking part in the competitions give you a wealth of experience. There are lots of emotions, which are positive, of course. We are a bit nervous, but on the whole we like everything," athletes from Denmark shared their impression.
