US swimmer Kogner grabs Universiade gold in men's 200m backstroke event

John Kogner, a swimmer from the United States, took the Universiade title in the men's 200m backstroke final.

During the final on Monday, Kogner covered the distance in 1 minute and 55.47 seconds. Japan's Yuli Shirai placed second (1.56,95). Another representative of the United States, Jacob Pebley, took bronze (1.57,43). Russia's Anton Anchin settled only for seventh place (1.59,47).
