Italian Matteo Furlan takes Universiade gold in men’s 10 km open water final

The Italian Matteo Furlan took Universiade gold at the 27th World University Summer Games in the men’s 10 km open water final.

On Wednesday, Furlan covered the distance in 1 hour 56 minutes and 12,4 seconds and became first. Silver went to French Romain Beraud, who finished 2 seconds behind the winner. Bronze medal was taken by German Andreas Waschburger (1:56:16.3). The best Russian athlete Daniil Serebrennikov was sixth (1:57:01.3). Another Russian representative Artem Podyakov took 11th place (1:57:44.7).
