Kazan 2013 SU organisers present prelim report to FISU Executive Committee. Part 4

Vladimir Leonov presented major results of the Summer Universiade, drawing particular attention to a number of factors that contributed to the success of the Games. According to the Director General of this summer's Universiade, among these factors were full support from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Mayor's Office, introduction of visa-free entry to Russia for about 11,000 Universiade participants, huge teamwork, involvement of all Russian regions and more than 50 universities in the volunteer programme, FISU Flag Relay and Universiade Torch Relay, active support provided by all the partners and licensees of the Universiade, implementation of the Cultural Universiade, a host of projects for spectators, and so on. Several groundbreaking projects were put into practice in the build-up to the Games, among them the Observer programme, FISU Debriefing, FISU Gala, Universiade Museum, Cultural Universiade and many other things. In addition, participants and guests of the Games saw the diversity and traditions of the peoples of Tatarstan by visiting the national Tatar holiday Sabantuy.

Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has hosted a "Fitness Diploma" for the first time, run under the supervision of Fitness Pioneers Academy and Dar Al - Hekma University representing the Saudi Side while Kazan Cooperative University from the Republic of Tatarstan has represented the Russian Side.
Anastasia Fesikova, representing Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Kaluga Oblast, took gold in the 50m backstroke race at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan (26.94).
