Kazan and the forthcoming 2015 FINA World Championships will be presented in Canada. The Tatarstan delegation is currently on a visit to Montreal where the 15th FINA World Masters Championships are held from July 27 to August 10. Parc Jean-Drapeau was chosen as the venue for the event. It includes sports facilities that were constructed especially for the Olympic Games and are now put to use during the tournament.
"At Parc Jean-Drapeau, we set up an exhibition booth, so called 'Kazan House', and it has already opened its doors to welcome first visitors," said Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Azat Kadyrov, who is visiting Montreal as we speak. The total floor area of the exhibition booth is 100 sq.m. It is decorated with the colour scheme of the 16th FINA World Masters Championships which will be hosted next year in Kazan. The booth is located near the entrance to the competition area.
A special place is designated in the booth for holding meetings and talks. "The delegation's main task in Montreal is to present Kazan as a multinational and innovative sports city with a rich history and developed sports infrastructure," said Deputy Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Mikhail Zotov.
The organisers expect a big turnout as spectators show huge interest in the forthcoming 2015 sporting events in Russia. Girls dressed in national costumes will be meeting visitors at the entrance of the Kazan House. They will offer a true Tatar treat to guests: tasty tea and chak-chak, the traditional Tatar pastry.
A lot of pleasant surprises are in store for all comers: souvenirs and even an opportunity to make a virtual tour of Kazan and its major sights - Kazan Kremlin, Kul Sharif Mosque, Syuyumbike Tower and Peter and Paul's Cathedral. Visitors will also be able to view the sports venues where events of the forthcoming World Championships will be hosted: Kazan Arena Stadium, Aquatics Palace and the left bank of the Kazanka River where the high diving event will be held.
The mascots of the upcoming 2015 FINA World Championships - snow leopards Itil and Alsu - will be meeting visitors at the entrance of the Kazan House. There will also be a special spot for taking pictures: a 3D sticker depicting a virtual high diving platform will be attached to the floor near the booth and give an impression that a person photographed on it is standing on a diving platform and is about to jump from it. Photos taken here can be posted on Instagram with a hashtag #Masterskzn2015.
The visitors will also have the opportunity to hear the beautiful voice of Elvira Kalimullina who will perform an inspiring song, titled 'I Believe in You, Kazan'. The tournament will end with the transfer of the FINA Flag to Kazan, the next host city of the FINA World Masters Championships.
