Kazan 2015 World Championships to be presented at SportAccord in Sochi

Tatarstan's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Vladimir Leonov, and Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Azat Kadyrov, met today with SportAccord Director General Vlad Marinescu in Lausanne (SUI).

The meeting saw the parties discuss the cooperation within the upcoming 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan and SportAccord Convention in Sochi. An agreement was reached that the 2015 FINA World Championships project will be presented on the sidelines of the convention with the city of Kazan being introduced as its host and the city of big sports opportunities. In return, SportAccord will deliver presentations of its projects during this summer's international aquatics tournament in Kazan, and its executives will attend the Championships events. Also, during the meeting, Vlad Marinescu presented the existing and scheduled projects, among them the World Combat Games, World Mind Games, World Urban Games and SportAccord Convention, the world's premier annual event at the service of sport that brings together representatives of the global sports community, International Olympic Committee, international sports federations as well as business people and sports professionals. 

SportAccord is an international sport organisation founded by 26 international federations in the following sports: Aeronautics, Rowing, Basketball, Bobsleigh, Boules, Canoeing, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Ice Hockey, Judo, Luge, Wrestling, Motorcycling, Swimming, Modern Pentathlon, Roller-Skating, Skiing, Shooting, Volleyball, Weightlifting, University Sport, and Maccabi.
