Kazan 2015 Organising Committee releases mobile apps for iOS and Android devices

1 July 2015, Wednesday

The Kazan 2015 Organising Committee has launched a free mobile application for iOS and Android devices. It will be available in the Russian and English languages.

Following the competition schedule, selecting public transport routes and nearest stops, as well as taking a look at competition and non-sports venues – all these features will be available at users’ fingertips with the official Kazan 2015 mobile application. The other day the apps for both iOS and Android devices were released to the public on the AppStore and PlayMarket. Using this app, users will be able to keep up-to-date with the action, follow the photo and video feeds and learn more about the host nation and the host city.

“When the app is opened, the News section appears on the main page. The menu features quite a lot of sections: there’s the competition schedule, information about sports; results will also be made available at a later date. Everything is quite simple. It takes one click to access the date and time of any event. More importantly, users can add the events they like to the Selections list. The app also offers the purchase of tickets to the FINA World Championships,” Director General of the Executive Directorate, Azat Kadyrov, said to reporters during a press conference dedicated to the Kazan 2015 ticketing programme.

The app content is updated on a real-time basis. Two new sections – Medal Table and Athletes - will be launched any time soon.

“All available sections are rather informative. For example, the Photo and Video section will contain photos and videos from the latest events. The search engine has also been perfectly tuned. It will enable users to easily find information about venues and sports they are interested in, and it even works with abbreviations. There's also the possibility to enable push notifications which will come as a convenient tool ahead of the Championships,” the CEO of the Directorate for Sports Projects said.

“The important thing is that the mobile application has been developed and launched. So, basically we encourage each and everyone of you to download it and start actively using it. And if you have any suggestions, we are always glad to hear them. I think that after today there will be a lot of those willing to download this app into their devices,” Azat Kadyrov said.
