Preparation of the 16th FINA World Championships sports venues and cultural programme is coming to its logical end. Deputy Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Mikhail Zotov, talked about this during a press conference at the Tatar-inform Information Agency.
The 2015 FINA World Championships cultural programme was created by the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. It includes museum exhibitions, plays at the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar National Academic Theatre, Comedy Club Production's concert called AQUA Comedy Club, circus performances, exhibitions (Kazan Kremlin State Historical and Architectural Museum Reserve, Hermitage-Kazan Exhibition Centre, National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan) and also an array of events in the FINA Water World Park, the main cultural venue of the upcoming tournament.
“Comedy Club show is going to be the highlight of the cultural programme, which is created especially for the Worlds,” Mikhail Zotov says.
The show will feature the core lineup of Comedy Club Russia residents: Pavel Volya, Garik Kharlamov, Timur Batrutdinov, Demis Karibidis, Andrey Skorokhod, Ruslan Beliy, Zurab Matua, Andrey Averin, Dmitry Sorokin, Marina Kravets, Alexey Smirnov, Anton Ivanov, and Ilya Sobelev.
It is important to note that 8 re-runs of the Opening Ceremony will be staged for the first time in global history. According to Mikhail Zotov, everyone will have a chance to soak up the atmosphere of the sporting event.
As for the FINA Water World Park, it will be officially opened on July 24. It will be available to the general public during the whole period of the Championships from midday till 22:00. Admission to the FINA Water World Park with the capacity of 20,000 visitors will be free of charge.
Admission to the park will be through the security station (with 15,000 through-flow rate) which comes out into Chistopolskaya Street. Another security station (20,000 through-flow rate) will be situated next to the Kazan Arena Stadium coming out into Yamasheva Prospekt Street. From there visitors will be able to cross the stylobate and go down till they see the Park right from Chistopolskaya Street.
On the way to the Park, there will be various cultural events including music, dancing and drama performed by both beginners and experienced Russian entertainers who took part in the second All-Russian Street Performers Festival Kulturniy Sdvig ('Cultural Shift'). From 16:00 till 22:00 all visitors will be entertained by living statues, street artists, street musicians performing romantic songs, top-class jazz musicians, young hip-hop artists, dance ensembles of different styles, interactive drama and theatrical plays.
A lot of stages will be set up in the FINA Water World Park for the artists who took part in the Kremlin LIVE Festival, Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk Festival and Jazz in Sandetskiy Mansion Festival. Kazan citizens will also be offered a chance to see live broadcasts of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 16th FINA World Championships via the Kazan Arena Stadium's media façade.
