With exactly a week to go to the 16th FINA World Championships, journalists start collecting their accreditation badges for this summer's most anticipated sporting event. The Media Accreditation Centre has been opened today at the Kazan Arena Stadium where swimming and synchronised swimming competitions will take place.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, the accreditation process lasted 5 months, from January 15-June 15. During this period media representatives from 45 countries were registered in the FINA GMS, among them China, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the USA. For the time being more than 1,500 journalists and members of broadcasting companies have already been accredited.
Accredited media representatives will be provided with the following services: accommodation at media hotels, transportation from official hotels to sports venues, meet and greet services at the airport and railway stations, coffee breaks at sports venues.
During the World Championships, from July 23 to August 9, four press centres will be available for accredited journalists. They will be located at the Kazan Arena Stadium, Kazanka Venue, Aquatics Palace and Water Polo Arena.
The press centres will start operating 2 hours prior to the start of the competitions and finish 2 hours after their conclusion. At all competition venues, journalists will be provided with a separate entrance, a convenient passage from the working area and press tribunes to the mixed zone, and free Wi-Fi in all press zones.
Media representatives will be able to collect their accreditation badges until August 9, the last competition day.
